Do you want to review the information that we have learned about the scientific method?
Click here for an animation about two classic experiments that review the use of the scientific method.
Or, click here to view a second animation from BrainPOP. This is a cartoon featuring Tim and Moby who use the scientific method to help them figure out why their fig plant has brown leaves.

Did you view the animations? Did they help increase your understanding of the scientific method and variables?
I viewed both animations and they were both helpful to me. I think that posting links like these throughout the school year will help us a lot!!! :)

The animation video made a lot more sense than the textbook. Now I understand how the experimental swan-neck flasks filled with broth didn't teem with microorganisms!

I think that things like this will be really helpful. Thanks for posting it! :)

I get it and it's a really clear way to explain the steps of the sci method and spontaneous generation but I'm still unclear about what makes an experiment bad or invalid. the videos did help though.
ReplyDeleteCool thanks!

That was a cute video. I thought Moby was funny, and it was a much more fun way of learning the scientific method!
ReplyDeleteLeslie, can we do the fig tree thing in class?
Just kidding...
:)

I think that the animations are interesting and very helpful... But the robot sounds can get annoying ^_^
ReplyDeleteONE MONTH LATER: "What do you know.... and I'm still wearing the same shirt." Lol :D

we used that website in my elementary school, and at first we thought it was cool, but eventually it gets annoying

Yeah,I can agree... Robot voices are annoying! The animation really showed me what the textbook was talking about. It was easier to see it visually.
ReplyDeleteKatherine W 7E
The animations were awsome:)
ReplyDeleteI finally get it! True, it was a big help to see it visually.

Me too. I agree that the robot's presence a bit weird. Robots haven't been programmed to have opinions yet, so a robot with feelings doesn't exactly fit with the scene... but otherwise, the video was extremely helpful ^ - ^...

The animation makes it much easier than the book thanks.

i hope the quiz is esay. I studied a lot, i hope it will be enough to pass the quiz :)
ReplyDeleteMatthew Niwlet 7B
Thanks! This was really helpful and easy to understand!
ReplyDeleteBrian O. 7B
Awesome can't wait to learn more
ReplyDeleteAva Lawrence 7G
I never understood the scientific method, but with all the different colors on the chart it really helped!
ReplyDeleteAva Lawrence, 7G
I also used this in elementary school. Brainpop is very helpful in not just science but all subjects. I think all the teachers should use it more often :D
ReplyDeleteRick M. 7F
I just watched the first video as part of my studying for the test and it really helped!
ReplyDeleteThe robot noises did bug me in the second video!
-Sofia Collins 7G
In addition to my studying, this really did help and clarify a few things.
ReplyDelete-Claudia F. 7A
Thanks! the animations were weird but helpful..... Also, the robot noises WERE annoying
ReplyDeleteThat was really helpful in understanding the different variables in an experiment.
ReplyDeleteKiana M 7G
that is pretty helpful even though we already finished the unit louie staub 7f
ReplyDeleteI remember in 5th grade when we used to go on Brainpop all the time. Thanks Leslie!
ReplyDeleteYuxiao L. 7G
This was pretty helpful. I was still kind of confused by it but the animation helped me. Thanks Leslie! August G. 7E
ReplyDeleteThis was really helpful......i understand even more than i did before!!!! thanks leslie!!!
ReplyDelete-Lucy B 7A
Though we already finished the unit, this chart is really helpful when I was reviewing the scientific method. The colors are also really helpful/cool!
ReplyDeletePaola W. 7E
In my old school, we always used brainpop! i was so clear, funny and imformative, i want to used this more!!
ReplyDeleteMina M. 7E
That was really helpful. I am so glad we have this blog to learn any things we don't understand.
