I did not know that deep inside i am eating myself . Has anybody ever died if their lysosomes were overworking and destroyed parts of their body? Matthewg. -7H
I think lysosomes are awesome, but what do they do with all the proteins and things that they recycle? Do they put them back into the endoplasmic reticulum?
This article was very interesting, the way the writer describes the lysosomes as "cannibals." But I think that it's really cool-in a weird way-that we "basically have a new heart" every three days.
How are new molecules formed from the debris of the remains of organelles? Do the pieces gradually join together or is there some other process?
I think this is a really important step toward preventing huge not-yet-curable diseases such as cancer, and also toward longer lifespan. However, I dont understand how the scientists will balance the lysosome activity so the rate of destruction is in sync with the rate of production.
I really think that lysosomes are the most interesting organelle. That article in class plus this has pretty much made me think that.

Very descriptive and very cool

I think the article is very interesting. It is a strange idea but does make sense.

I really think that lysosomes are very interesting because of their behavior, and how they recycle other old cells.

These lysosomes are like garbage disposals. They must be really, really important to the cell.

that article is pretty cool! thanks for posting it

wow! I didn't know that lysosomes could protect against cancer!

Wow! its really cool to think that were all cannibals without knowing it. Thanks for the info! helps alot.

it is so cool how this "cannibalism" can extend our lives!!

that helped me with understanding the look of the ribosomes

Wow! I had no idea that lysosomes were so interesting! I also can't believe that all this can happen inside something as tiny as a cell!

I think that lysosomes are very interesting, as was the article we read earlier, because of their "cannibalistic" behavior.

Help! We're eating ourselves! It's a good thing though and can lead to cool medical breakthroughs!
ReplyDeleteSo then lysosomes are the garbage disposals like garbage trucks on the streets?
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda cool.

before this i totally didn't get lysosomes. But now they are really interesting!
